  • Hymamshu Jyothi Kala Peetha has embraced the most viable alternative in education as per the Montessori method.
  • Hymamshu Montessori established in 1967 caters to the developmental and emotional growth of children aged between 2.5 to 6 years.
  • Hymamshu Jyothi Kala Peetha  has offered the community a chance to explore and unravel the  Montessori method where the children would step into the world of literacy through well tested methods of creative learning and living.

    Dr. Maria Montessori wrote:

    I am extremely delighted to welcome all of you to Hymamshu Jyothi Kala Peetha where we create a caring and sharing atmosphere to students from across geographies and culture. The curriculum aged two and half years to six years are divided into 4 working areas.

Practical life: 

These activities are a preparation to developing life skills. It develops motor control and co-ordination, independence, concentration and a sense of responsibility. It also revolves around care of the self and care of the environment.

Sensorial:

 Young children learn by using their senses. Children develop their visual, tactile, auditory,  olfactory and gustatory senses through exploration of the materials.

The sensorial activities help develop important lifelong skills such as logic, awareness and perception. 

 

Language:

"....Language is the central point of difference between the human species and all others. Language lies at the root of that transformation of the environment that we call civilization."

The Absorbent mind

           

In the Montessori environment children learn the phonetic sounds of letters and write in cursive script. Initially they learn to compose and read short words and eventually longer words and sentences.

Arithmetic:

Children learn the mathematical concepts such as numeration, place value, fractions and basic operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

Geography, History & Science also form an integral part of the curriculum.

Festivals

Celebrating festivals within the environment not only makes the environment fun-filled but also is a very good way of learning their religious importance.Dussera, Diwali, Sankranti, Krishna Janmashtmi are celebrated in the environment  with active participation from children and teachers.

Children's Day:

Fancy dress competitions are organized on Children's Day. They are gifted with storybooks and chocolates.

School Day:

 Annual day celebration is something that children eagerly look forward to.The Montessori 3rd group children participate in the annual day every year.

Montessori Day:

Montessori Day is celebrated with full vigour in the environment every year. Dance, drama and storytelling is organized.   

Day trips:

Daytrips to resorts, parks, or to the zoo are organized for the 3rd group  children every year keeping in mind all the safety precautions.

Market Day:

Children are taken to the supermarket along with a teacher. They are given a tour of the market and are introduced to different products, vegetables, fruits on display.

 

Artistic Expressions:

Through various forms like Painting, drawing, collage, rangoli, sewing and other crafts, children develop their artistic expressions.

Story telling:

Children love stories, it is an integral part of our Montessori Environment and also a great way to improve a child’s vocabulary.  Story telling also helps children improve their language skills and also aids in brain development.

Colour day:

The school organises Colour day frequently, children are encouraged to dress according to the colour code.  Activities are organised based on this theme.

Music:

Another art form is taught to children through songs, rhymes and bhajans.
